Happy New Year From Mountain Mama

I seem to have fallen off the radar for the past few months. I've been extremely busy with my son and the holidays. Hopefully I can at least update this blog with a post every so often. During my time away I kept myself busy crocheting and knitting. I made a diaper cover and hat for my son's first birthday, two batches of preemie hats for our local NICU, a baby blanket for my son, a baby blanket for my niece due in April, mittens, headbands, scarves, and a few other things. I'll try to create a some blog posts in the future detailing some of those projects as well as new ones.

Right now I'm trying to decide if it would be worth my time to create an etsy page and go through with the whole process of creating a new business since my hobby has grown so much this past year. It's been a hobby of mine for most of my life, but in the past year since my son was born it has been very therapeutic as we went through a very tumultuous time beginning with his birth. Perhaps I will post about our family's journey in the future. All I know is that I'm sure my husband would be very thankful if some of this yarn that has consumed our spare bedroom would find its way out of our house!

It sounds like my little guy is calling for me, so look for some new posts in the near future.

From this Mountain Mama's house to yours, Happy New Year!

iKnit Needle Sizer- For Knitting AND Crochet

If you're like me you have that random crochet hook or knitting needle laying around that's unmarked. Instead of pulling out your manual needle sizer, you can now download it onto your phone. iKnit Needle Sizer is such a handy app! I don't know about you but my phone is a lot more convenient to grab than my manual needle sizer! Oh and as if that's not enough you can easily convert your hook from letter size to millimeter size. It works for both crochet hooks and knitting needles. I've had it on my phone for a year or so and use it frequently. By the way, I was in no way paid to share this product with you. I downloaded it for free onto my iPhone at the App Store. You can also find it here: http://megolden.com/needlesizer/needlesizer.html

Easy Chunky Crochet Cowl-Short Version

Here are two of my most recently completed projects. I absolutely love them. The pattern is so easy to follow, not to mention how quick it is to make a cowl. A person can bust one of these out in a matter of an hour or two. You can find the pattern here: http://www.jjcrochet.com/blog/free-crochet-cowl-pattern/
